For my first solo exhibition, I used my set design skills in building a ‘live‘ set, a dystopian playground/ amusement park based on my recurrent childhood nightmares of driving a car and crashing it the moment I realise I don’t yet know how to drive. The viewer is invited to interact with the space and various easter eggs that evoke the nostalgia for the magical times of childhood. But behind every corner lurks something sinister — a reminder we can never return to those carefree times, that the magic keeps on dying out day by day as we grow older.
